New World War I Content

The new World War I exhibit is now public (see screenshots below)! We've added a ton of content as well as reorganized the section. You can read personnel biographies, explore their aircraft, view photo albums and lots more. Let us know what you think.

We now have the Lt. Cassius Styles War Diary

Mr. O'Neal, Managing Editor of "Over the Front" Journal and member of the League of WWI Aviation Historians, was kind enough to place us in contact with Mr. Clifford Huffington. Mr. Huntington generously volunteered to send us copies of Lt. Cassius Styles' War Diary. We are especially thankful to Mr. O'Neal and Mr. Huffington for their help. This diary will help us more accurately tell the story of the 12th Aero Squadron.

1Lt. Styles was shot down and captured. His pilot, 1Lt. Wistar Morris was killed in action. Lt. Styles remained with the Army into the 1920's before becoming a private citizen. As a civilian, Lt. Styles became a renown archer and bow maker. TwelfthRecon has completed scanning the diary and efforts are now underway preparing it for publication on TwelfthRecon.com.

In February

We will be posting two new stories from the Second World War.
